Dutch bank ABN AMRO plans to enrol customers using face recognition linked to government-backed IDs.For new accounts, the bank will request a selfie, a photos of the consumer's identity card or passport, and an iDeal payment transfer of €0.01.”We see smartphone use among our customers grow by the day. A pilot was also launched in six ABN Amro offices across the Netherlands prior to full-scale release.Earlier this year, ABN AMRO took part in a user trial by MasterCard and International Card Services (ICS), which allows consumers to pay online through fingerprint and facial recognition.
