South Korea's state-run Industrial Bank of Korea has revealed a new ATM which authenticates a customer's iris to enable banking transactions.Revealed at an event in Seoul, IBK Chairwoman and CEO Kwon Seon-joo showed reporters how to withdraw cash from the ATM with just her iris.Earlier this year, banks staff had revealed their reasons for choosing iris.”We need to find a new authentication and verification system with strong security”, an official said in August. “We are looking into adopting the iris recognition system to differentiate ourselves from other banks”.According to the Korea Portal, the bank's executives have already signed a deal with Irience on the project.
