The next flagship Samsung will use facial and iris recognition to authenticate payments as well as fingerprint, reports company insiders.A report in Bloomberg Technology quotes “people familiar with the matter” as saying that the Galaxy S8 will employ facial-recognition technology for mobile payments within months of release.The Galaxy S8 to be unveiled later this month will blend fingerprint, iris and facial detection to verify users accessing mobile services including Samsung Pay, the people said.The firm is “already working with banks to help them embrace facial recognition systems in coming months, they said.”The report comes in a week that saw other media claim that an in-glass sensor for the phone was scrapped because it was too late to develop in time.
