Confirming tech speculation, Google has confirmed it is working on a fingerprint unlock feature for Chrome OS.Specialised website Chrome Story has spotted a new flag in Chrome OS Canary that discusses “Quick Unlock (Fingerprint).”As early as last September, Changes to the open source code used for Google's netbook suggested that a fingerprint reader will be integrated in its next iteration. A commit that appeared within the Chromium repositories relates the biometric security, suggesting that Google is experimenting with the feature. Meanwhile, earlier this month a new Chromebook chipset developed by MediaTek called the Rowan features a fingerprint sensor. The website revealed the implementation of Fingerprint Cards' FPC1020 to the 'Rowan' board.
