Chinese supply chain sources have told tech media that Samsung will develop its own version of the iPhone X's Face ID.According to a report by Chinese website, MyDrivers, Samsung is planning on introducing a 3D facial recognition feature on its next year flagship, the Galaxy S9. Samsung's latest flagship smartphone, the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 also sports facial recognition, but it could be easily fooled using a photo instead of an actual face. The report further reaffirms rumours of Samsung Galaxy S9 being powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 platform. Samsung has reportedly purchasedalmost the entire first batch of the Snapdragon 845 chipsets. This is not the first time the company has done something like this. In 2016, Samsung nearly purchased the entire stock of the Snapdragon 835 for its Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus smartphones.
