The new version of Switzerland’s passport will open the door for international travel and be universally recognised with secure features. The passport has a unique design which symbolises national pride and an interoperability with international security standards, to be easily authenticated.
Imagery of water is particularly distinguishable on the travel document which flows through 26 cantons, from the Alpine peaks to the valleys.
The passport has been described as “secure and unique” for its depictions of landscapes and references to citizens living at home and abroad in the Fifth Switzerland.
Older versions of the passport still remain in use until the expiry date but the new design can be pre-ordered from Monday at registered passport offices and Swiss embassies abroad.
