Pop-up kiosks for enrolment onto TSA’s PreCheck scheme allow travellers to have an even more convenient way to join the program.

IDEMIA – contracted service provider of PreCheck – will staff ambassadors at mobile enrolment stations outside of Destin-Fort Walton Beach Airport during a two week pilot, helping to convert even more passengers to become members of the scheme.

The service has been demonstrated live with success across aviation hubs including, Jackson–Medgar Wiley Evers International Airport, Gulfport-Biloxi International Airport in Mississippi and Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport in Kentucky.

The two-week pilots or deployments of this initiative across America’s largest airports will give passengers a trusted demonstration of PreCheck’s capabilities before or after being registered in five minutes or less.

From next month, passengers upon arrival for their flight can be registered for PreCheck and issued with their Known Traveler Number (KTN) within three to five days.

Frontline personnel in travel are still very much needed as well as digital identity to expedite manual human processes, such as signing up for PreCheck or resolving problems with biometrics at the border.

Louisiana was an early adopter of mobile enrolment and since then, the TSA and service provider, IDEMIA have strived to implement tests of mobile enrolment across additional airports nationwide.

The proof is in the mass registration numbers… 94% of TSA PreCheck passengers know their future transits through the airport will be expedited and streamlined without friction.

American Airlines customers using PreCheck can take advantage of a collaboration with the TSA to launch mobile identification and biometric capture capabilities.

The enrolment process for PreCheck involves submitting a government-issued photo ID and foundational ID documents, such as passport and birth certificate before the day of travel. Fingerprint biometrics will be taken during physical appointments at your nearest collection centre.

The first 2-week enrolment period at Destin-Fort begins on Monday, 13 November, 2023 until Friday, 17 November.

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) renewed its pledge at Identity Week America earlier this month to facilitating free movement for people and commerce across 640 public-facing enrolment centres nationwide with a traveller processing time of 10 seconds or less.

“We saw a 4 million growth in PreCheck traveller numbers”, he told 3,000 attendees.

The daily average of TSA preCheck enrolments reached 14,000 this year with the total of active PreCheck members amounting to 17.3 million.
