Self-sovereign identity and payments firm Nuggets has updated its contactless delivery technology. The system involves biometric security protected by blockchain and this allows customers provide contactless proof of identity on delivery.According to Nuggets this will stop delivery-related chargebacks from happening in the first place by verifying delivery of a package to the right recipient.Couriers complete contactless delivery by pinging the customer's digital ID via an app, and request the biometric ID verification from the Nuggets app to confirm delivery.Alastair Johnson, CEO and co-founder of Nuggets, said, “The combination of the astronomical costs facing our e-commerce businesses, from fraudulent chargebacks to failed deliveries and fake user reviews, big savings can be delivered by having Nuggets integrated. With virtually no upfront investment, merchants can better manage their chargebacks spanning from COVID-19 and start safeguarding their revenues.”
