French biometrics and secure document manufacturer Morpho (Safran) has won a three-year contract to supply the Slovak Republic with driver's licences.The new driver's licences cards will incorporate special inks, tactile relief and laser engraving among other security features to comply with European standards and protect against document fraud. Morpho already supplies the Slovak Republic with passports, vehicle registration cards, resident permits, weapon registration documents, police ID cards and eID cards."We see this contract from the Ministry of the Interior of the Slovak Republic as a sign of continued trust in our technologies, placing the production of all official ID documents in our hands," said Jacques van Zijp, General Manager Business Unit Europe, Government Identity Solutions division at Morpho.
