HJP Consulting has revealed that it now offers conformity testing for the development of eID clients. The firm's new conformity test tool, called GT Prove eID Client, is based on HJP's flagship product GlobalTester. The open source-based conformance test tool GlobalTester has been used worldwide for nearly a decade. The GlobalTester Prove product family includes testing solutions for e-passports, eID cards as well as respective readers and now eID clients. Together with partners, HJP further offers test- and certification services for eID documents and inspection systems.GT Prove eID Client is a conformity test tool to test eID clients for the German electronic ID card. Germany had introduced the electronic ID card (nPA) in November 2010.The incorporated chip and new security functions for authentication, identification and digital signature revolutionize applications in the areas of eGovernment and eCommerce. However, to date available applications as well as user acceptance for new functions such as online authentication have not met overall expectations. The interoperability of the electronic ID card and the respective infrastructure as well as secure, error-free operations are prerequisites for mass use by citizens. In order meet these requirements, the German Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) has specified technical guidelines for the conformity testing of eID clients, BSI TR-03105 and TR-03124.HJP's conformity test tool GT Prove eID Client helps developers of eID clients to assure conformance with BSI standards. The incorporated PersoSim simulator allows application developers to simulate all functions of the electronic ID card and offers them an alternative to physical samples. PersoSim has been certified by the German BSI and has been recognized as one of the best innovations in several competitions.
