China-based tech firm Goodix has said it expects fingerprint sensors and force touch sensors to be the company's two growth drivers for in 2016. Taiwan-based tech newspaper Digitimes wrote this week that Goodix has developed invisible fingerprint sensor (IFS) technology in cooperation with touch panel maker TPK Holding.The solution integrates a fingerprint sensor onto the back of a touch panel without affecting the product's industrial design and user experience. The IFS-based sensor also works on strengthened and sapphire glass.Goodix has also helped Alipay to set up fingerprint authentication standards as well becoming the sole provider of fingerprint authentication solutions to UnionPay International.The adoption of Goodix solutions by UnionPay will encourage vendors in other industries to integrate fingerprint sensor technology into their products or services, commented the sources.In addition to fingerprint sensors, Goodix has stepped into the development of force touch solutions in order to meet increasing demand from clients, said the company, adding that it also plans to unveil new applications at MWC 2016.
