Netherlands-based biometric ID solutions firm GenKey has launched a “state-of-the-art” minutiae-based fingerprint matching algorithm that it says will boost its offerings in the election, health and mobile device markets.Known as BioFinger, the matching algorithm achieved “excellent” performance results in both “standard” and “hard” tests by FVC-onGoing, said GenKey. The tests allow third parties to compare the accuracy and speed of fingerprint SDKs as evaluated by an independent organization.”We are very pleased that our new BioFinger SDK achieved a top five ranking in accuracy in the FVConGoing evaluation and we are especially proud of the accuracy results in the 'hard' category”, said Gavan Duffy, CTO of GenKey.”As part of our strategy to invest in state-of-the-art biometric technology, I am pleased to see that BioFinger is now made available to our partners”, says Michiel van der Veen, CEO of GenKey.”[This performance], even on very difficult biometric subjects, is key to continuing to improve our offerings in the election and health markets, as well as to preparing us for the world-wide trend of mobile and embedded applications”, he added.
