Gemalto has announced the inauguration of a centre of excellence for the Royal Oman Police (ROP), dedicated to knowledge transfer and best practices sharing. Located on ROP premises, the centre is designed to train ROP staff on technologies and issuance processes associated with eIDs and ePassports for the Sultanate's citizens.The centre is equipped with the latest Gemalto technology and back-end systems needed to issue both documents. Gemalto will train ROP trainers who will pass the knowledge to their front-desk personnel."Over the years, Gemalto has consistently supported us in being a pioneer in our region for government programmes," says Major General Sulaiman Al-Harthy, assistant inspector general for the Royal Oman Police.
