Hackers have targeted “primary processes” at the Dutch Ministry of Finance, creating uncertainty over how much employee personal data may have been compromised.
The affected systems support a number of ministry functions. Since the unauthorised access was detected, an investigation has been launched into the origins of the cyberattack, which did not compromise any financial information.
Access to these systems has been temporarily blocked for employees as of today.
Services provided to citizens and businesses by the Tax and Customs Administration, Customs, and Allowances have not been affected.
