US banking and payments tech firm FIS has announced that it will provide fingerprint access to its Cardless Cash ATM mobile banking application via Apple's TouchID as of April.Leveraging the biometric tech, the app will enable end-users to access their account and withdraw money from ATMs with just their fingerprint.”One-touch Cardless Cash is unlike anything else in the market,” said Douglas Brown, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Mobile Financial Services, FIS. “The ability to access your account and withdraw money with just your fingerprint will make ATM access faster, safer and easier for users.”FIS say it is the first firm to to offer biometric, cardless ATM access. It is partnering with financial services firm The Bancorp on the programme.”We are committed to providing stellar customer experiences, letting our customers bank when, where and how they want to, with the highest security,” explained Pete Chiccino, CIO, The Bancorp.FIS added in a statement that biometric access will be extended to Android users this year.
