Sweden's Fingerprint Cards has confirmed that Google's new Nexus 5X manufactured by LG and its Nexus 6P manufactured by Huawei both feature its touch fingerprint sensor FPC1025.The rear-mounted sensors are used for a login service called “Nexus Imprint” that lets users wake their phones, unlock apps and make mobile payments all by just pressing with their fingerprint.FPC noted that these are also the first smartphones to use Google's new Android 6.0, a.k.a Marshmallow release, which integrates extensive new fingerprint sensor capabilities.In addition to Android 6.0 and its integrated support for fingerprint sensors Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P includes Android Pay, a secure payment service utilizing the fingerprint sensor for secure and convenient mobile payments.Jörgen Lantto, CEO of FPC, comments: “Google powers a majority of the world's smartphones with its Android operating system and these new Google Nexus devices are the first smartphones to integrate Android 6.0 and its integrated support for fingerprint sensors.
