Iris recognition specialists EyeLock have appointed Steve Gerber to the new role of senior vice president of mobile and wearables.Gerber's most recent position was executive director of the Human Interface Business Unit. He previously served as director of Human Interface Products at Silicon Labs where he led development of a portfolio of user interface products.”The market need for biometric solutions across a broad spectrum of consumer and enterprise mobile functions has deepened our focus on expanding the applications of our award-winning technology,” explained Jim Demitrieus, Chief Executive Officer of EyeLock. “Steve's track record of technology innovation and commercial success will help us to meet the growing demand for expanded applications of our technology in the mobile market.”Planet Biometrics reported in November that EyeLock had announced an agreement with Taiwan's WNC to embed EyeLock's patented iris authentication technology across PCs, set-top boxes, network devices and automotive applications.
