Secure identity document firm Elyctis has launched the ID BOX One Attach series, targeted at integrators wanting to include ePassport or ID card reading on their existing automats. The company says the ID BOX One Attach can be fitted on the side of an existing kiosk, automat or vending machine. It reads all ePassports and ID documents such as national ID cards, driving licences and residence permits.Elyctis claims that the device's single antenna design and thin MRZ scanner make it the smallest static eID reader on the market. Without the user moving, the ID BOX One Attach readers detect the document, read the machine readable zone (MRZ) of the document and use the information to access the chip. The reader supports all ICAO standards. All devices in the range can also be used to read documents for a number of other applications, including hotel check-in, banking and SIM registration, and car rental."With the new ID BOX One Attach series Elyctis can now provide ID reading capabilities for all situations and integration levels," says Alexandre Joly, CEO, Elyctis. "The series provides an easy integration path between the stand-alone and the fully integrated OEM version. This way integrators can test their markets with the snap-on ID BOX One Attach series before considering a full integration of ID reading functions."The ID BOX One Attach comes in two versions: ID BOX One 211, able to read the MRZ of ID1, ID2 and ID3 documents; and ID BOX 221, which includes both an MRZ reader (ID1, ID2 and ID3) and a contactless reader.
