MorphoTrust USA (Safran), has received SAFETY Act certification for its Universal Enrollment Services (UES) and Automated Biometric Identification System (ABIS) platforms. The certification acknowledges these technologies are effective anti-terrorism tools. The company says that achieving the certification on the UES platform makes MorphoTrust one of the only organisations in the US with an identity enrolment services technology that is SAFETY Act-certified.The UES platform facilitates the collection of biometric and biographic information of individuals for enrolment in various federal programs, as well as the secure transmission of that information to the contracting agency for review and adjudication, which may include comparison against law enforcement databases. Currently, MorphoTrust is the authorized service provider for enrolment into the TSA Pre programme as well as the Hazardous Materials Endorsement (HME) and Transportation Worker Identity Credential (TWIC) programmes under its UES contract. The UES platform is currently in use at more than 360 IdentoGO Centres by MorphoTrust across the US where enrolments in TSA Pre, HME and TWIC are available, including more than 40 airport locations. According to MorphoTrust, the ABIS platform allows its government customers to search, process, compare and manage identity data of enrolled individuals. ABIS users can search for individual identities by a variety of biometric modalities, ranging from face to iris to fingerprint, in one-to-one or one-to-many identity checks. ABIS is used by a number of government agencies to verify identities in situations critical to national security.
