Digital bank Atom has launched in the UK as one of the country's first mobile-only financial institutions.Biometrics has played an important role in the bank's pre-launch development, with face and voice security implemented in its critical app.Earlier this year, Atom Bank announced they will be “pioneering the use of biometrics in the UK banking industry, leading the way with face and voice biometrics as core credentials” for their customers to log in to their bank accounts. Atom confirmed they will use Daon's mobile biometric authentication platform IdentityX.Mark Mullen, chief executive at Atom Bank, commented: “We are creating an entirely new way to bank; a system that is based on what the customer needs and wants, rather than being focused on bank balance sheets.”
