Supply chain sources in China indicate that Apple is reportedly planning to launch an iPhone model that has use an under-display fingerprint sensor.The sources said replacing Face ID with fingerprint sensors will allow the company to cut the cost of the device and in turn help boost its sales numbers.Chinese users, as per the report, prefer smartphones around 5,000 Yuan ($720). This has made smartphones by companies like Huawei, Vivo, Oppo and Xiaomi more popular in the country compared with Apple, which sells its 2018 budget iPhone – the iPhone XR – at a price of around 8,000 Yuan (Rs 80,000 approx) in the country.This has prompted the iPhone maker to lunch a low-cost variant of its smartphone in China, which is likely to help the company boost the sales of its iPhones in the country.
