MAOSCO, the secretariat of the MULTOS Consortium, has announced the appointment of Paul Wilson as commercial manager with immediate effect. Wilson is responsible for overseeing the promotion and development of the MULTOS technology, the standards and the Consortium's MULTOS activities. The Consortium says: "With more than 17 years' industry experience, Paul brings with him in-depth knowledge and experience in secure digital solutions. As a technical expert, he has contributed to major EMV migration deployments in the EMEA region and more recently in a business development role, he has been responsible for expanding client portfolios within the financial industry and supporting existing clients in leveraging new opportunities."Wilson says: "I have been impressed with the wide adoption and innovative evolution of MULTOS and the open consortium that governs it. As we approach the so-named Fourth Industrial Revolution of a more data driven inter-connected world, it is clear that the core MULTOS facets of security, flexibility, speed, and vendor agnostic open-standard platform are highly suited not only to secure smartcard applications, but also to develop secure device markets such as the IoT. Hence, I am very much looking forward to embracing this new challenge supporting the consortium members and the continued technology growth throughout these exciting times ahead."Dave Meadon, chairman of the MULTOS consortium says: "Paul will be an invaluable addition to the MAOSCO team. His appointment is timely given MULTOS technology deployment marches rapidly towards 1 billion devices – all in demanding, high security applications – and gives strength to the ongoing efforts of promoting the technology within existing smart card markets where MULTOS already has a strong presence, and expanding MULTOS into new areas that can tap into the benefits of the technology."
