Integrated Biometrics has announced that its “Sherlock” two-finger roll scanner has been successfully integrated into AMREL's Flexpedient AT80B Rugged Tablet.”The rugged Sherlock is a good match for the AT80B tablet,” explained Richard Lane, AMREL's VP for strategic business development, adding, “Designed for quick customization, the AT80B easily integrated the Sherlock sensor, while preserving the tablet's extraordinary structural strength. The new rugged biometric device handles and acts as if it were built form the ground up as a single tough operational unit.”Integrated Biometrics says that Sherlock weighs only 60 grams, that it doesn't generate light when used in darkness and is resistant to finger contaminants such as grease, oil, water, dust and chemicals.”The compact, durable design of Sherlock is well-suited to mobile applications where minimal size and weight have significant value,” Steve Thies, Integrated Biometrics CEO said. “Sherlock has multiple applications for military, law enforcement, airport and border security, financial institutions and health care,” Thies explained, adding, “Our patented LES film is durable and shockproof and has been tested to over one million touches without impact on image quality.”
