Iceland's passport authority has issued 2 "Prior information notices" on public procurement concerning the design, production and delivery of travel documents and a PKI system.The contract is for a total of 348,000 travel document booklets over a period of approximately 8 years, including laminating material.Of these, 340,000 are regular passport booklets that shall be delivered in lots of 10 000-30,000 with a 4-6 months' notice.The rest, the 8 000 are other travel document booklets (five types) that shall be delivered in lots of 500-2 000 with a four to six months' notice.The first delivery of regular passport booklets shall be 15.5.2017.Meanwhile, tenders are also being invited for the design, production and delivery of a total of 43 000 raw electronic Residence cards. Of these, 10 000 shall be of Schengen version 2 and the rest of Schengen version 3.Cards shall be delivered in lots of approximately 10 000 with a 4-6 months' notice. Tenders shall be for with and without functionality for storing qualified eID certificates (contact chip, optional for the buyer). The 1st delivery shall be 15.5.2017.Meanwhile, tenders are invited for the design, production and delivery of a total of 100 000 raw electronic National ID cards, to be delivered in lots of 25 000 with a 4-6 months' notice.Tenders shall be for with and without functionality for storing qualified eID certificates (contact chip). The first delivery shall be earliest in Jan 2017 (to be decided later).Full details of the travel document tenders are available here.Meanwhile, the office is also seeking tenders for a PKI data security software package.The tender is for software for passport Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), communication with Public Key Directory (PKD) and Single Point of Contact (SPOC) communications.The integrated software must provide the following services: A Country Signer Certificate Authority (CSCA) providing trust in Icelandic passports and a Country Verifier Certificate Authority (CVCA) protecting fingerprints in Icelandic passports, among others.Full details of the PKI tender is available here.
