SecuGen has announced that its Hamster Pro 20 fingerprint reader has been certified IP65. The SecuGen Hamster Pro 20 has successfully passed tests for both dust and water ingress. These tests were performed by third party testing organisations in South Korea.According to SecuGen, the Hamster Pro 20 is an ultra-compact, highly precise and rugged fingerprint reader. In addition to being FBI certified as meeting FAP 20 image quality requirements for use with the US government's PIV applications as well as being STQC certified for use in the Indian Aadhaar programme, the Hamster Pro 20's IP65 rating, shows it can be used in tough environments where water- and dust-resistance are necessary."Our engineering teams have done a remarkable job with the Hamster Pro 20," says Dan Riley, SecuGen's vice president of Engineering. "Achieving an IP65 rating was beyond our initial design goals for this product. This is a clear benefit for SecuGen resellers around the world."Won Lee, CEO of SecuGen adds: "Our goal is and has always been to manufacture high quality fingerprint products at affordable prices. This is in the best interest of our global partners to supply the kind of rugged and reliable biometric devices demanded by their end-users. We are very pleased to add IP65 rating to the list of features of the Hamster Pro 20."
