Fingerprint Cards has revealed that San Francisco smartphone start-up Nextbit has integrated its FPC1145 sensor in a flagship “cloud-first” Android smartphone called Robin.Nextbit is led by former Google executive Tom Moss and backed by Google Ventures and Accel Partners.Jorgen Lantto, CEO of FPC, commented on the development: “NextBit is an up and coming smartphone OEM with an interesting business model and we are proud that NextBit selected FPC1145 for Robin, its first smartphone. FPC1145 supports 360 degree finger rotation capability, fast response time and industry leading 3D image quality, and its small size enables placement on the side of the smartphone”.Tom Moss, CEO of NextBit, comments: “In our endeavors to provide the consumer with the ultimate user experience for Robin, we consider embedding a touch fingerprint sensor a mandatory feature.
