Swedish biometrics firm Fingerprint Cards has received a US$8.6 million order for a touch fingerprint sensor to supply smartphone manufacturers in China, the company has revealed.FPC says that delivery for the order of its touch fingerprint sensor FPC1025 will take place between March and July 2015. “After the previously announced launches of Huawei Ascend Mate 7 (using FPC1020) and Oppo N3 (using FPC1021), multiple smartphone manufacturers in China have selected FPC1025 as their touch fingerprint sensor, ” said Jörgen Lantto, acting President and Chief Executive Officer of FPC, comments.”This order confirms that FPC1025 will be integrated in smartphones to be launched progressively from Q2 2015 and onwards”.Last November, FPC has confirmed that its FPC1021 touch fingerprint reader has been used in Chinese smartphone maker Oppo's flagship mobile, the N3. In January, FPC announced the launch of two new touch fingerprint sensors and plans to collaborate with China-based electronic firm O-Film.
