The FIDO (Fast IDentity Online) Alliance, an industry consortium launched in 2013 to establish improved online authentication standards, has revealed a new leadership board for this year.FIDO's new president is Dustin Ingalls of Microsoft, Brett McDowell has become the organisation's first executive director.Bill Smith of PayPal, Joe Pennisi of Lenovo, and Sampath Srinivas of Google were all re-elected to their 2014 positions of secretary, treasurer and vice president, respectively; and the board appointed additional vice presidents Ramesh Kesanupalli, Nok Nok Labs and FIDO Alliance visionary, and Sam Nassar, NXP.Last December, FIDO published a final draft of standards that it says will end the era of passwords.
