Since its inclusion, the company has experienced significant growth and evolution, being consolidated as a global benchmark in identity verification technology, with more than 300 customers worldwide.

Facephi came about in 2012, at a time of rapid technological advances, when digital processes were becoming more accessible and online identity verification was becoming essential for many companies.

Within this environment, a group of engineers and mathematicians wanted to make digital processes simpler, but above all more secure, changing alphanumeric passwords for digital identity verification with anti-fraud solutions based on AI and multi-biometric technologies.

During that time, Facephi demonstrated its ability to adapt and the possibility of growth on a dynamic and competitive market which led to them joining BME Growth in 2014.

Its CEO, Javier Mira, asserts that being in the BME drives its growth and “we access financing tools that have helped us go from being a Start Up to being a Scale Up.”

The company has achieved notable growth in terms of its numbers, with an annual increase of 20% year after year, making it an outstanding scale up. This growth has been backed up by significant investments in technology and human talent, from 17 people who made up Facephi in 2012 to currently having almost 270 employees.

This expansion makes Facephi a pioneer in bringing Spanish technology to international markets, with the opening of subsidiaries in LATAM, APAC and EMEA, with an approach which is global, but focused on each customer.

The company has not only focused on geographic expansion, but also on the diversification of its technological solutions: Facephi Onboarding, Facephi Authentication, Facephi Identity Platform, Identity Wallet and KYB Platform.

At present, Facephi is a leader in the financial sector, and it has ambitious plans to expand into new verticals such as the airline sector further to its recent alliance with IATA.

Its trajectory and future projection position it as a key player in the global digital transformation.
