Egypt's Minister of Communications and Information Technology Amr Talaat has met with French IDEMIA CEO Yann Delabrière. They discussed the company's investment plans to expand its business in Egypt and enhancing collaboration in Artificial Intelligence (AI), relevant applications and digital identity.During the meeting, Delabrière stated that his company is planning to expand its business in Egypt and invest in establishing a center for shared services in Egypt, as Egypt has competitive potentials, including digital skills, competitive cost, investment incentives and excellent geographical location.Talaat welcomed IDEMIA's expansion plans in Egypt and said that the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) is keen on collaborating with major companies specializing in digital transformation and secured infrastructure.The ICT Minister requested that IDEMIA increases its export capacity of IT services from Egypt to serve its customers all over the world. Delabrière welcomed the suggestion and said that IDEMIA is planning to do so.Talaat also highlighted the efforts exerted in capacity building in technical areas, adding that MCIT is ready to qualify young calibers in the needed skills according to the company's needs.Moreover, the two sides discussed cooperation in AI and relevant applications, in light of MCIT interest in adopting these technologies and integrating them into the digital system.During the meeting, Egypt Post and IDEMIA agreed on cooperating in digital identity services, based on the citizen fingerprint and ID system.The meeting was attended by the Deputy Minister for Infrastructure and the Head of the General Secretariat Sector at MCIT Raafat Hindy, the Chairman of Egypt National Post Organization (ENPO) Essam El-Saghir and the CEO of the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) Hala El Gohary.
