The Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Office of Biometric Identity Management (OBIM) is seeking the sources and solutions necessary to develop, integrate, and implement capabilities for its Portfolio of SystemsThe DHS, is looking for contractors to help develop, integrate and implement capabilities for a host of software systems. These include the agency's legacy biometric identification system, IDENT, and its replacement, the Homeland Advanced Recognition Technology System, which will be moved to an Amazon Web Services cloud certified by the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program, according a June 17 request for information.The department's Office of Biometric Identity Management (OBIM), which is responsible for storing and analyzing identification information to support immigration and border security, is taking the latest step in examining cloud-based biometric technologies.OBIM would apply those capabilities to its enterprise-level biometric identity services to support DHS agencies, such as Customs and Border Patrol, Immigration and Customs Enforcement and the Transportation Security Agency (TSA).
