Colorado has revealed new driving licence and ID card designs featuring new security features.The Division of Motor Vehicles notes that a pilot program using the new licence design will begin Tuesday at their office in Littleton.Cardholder information will be laser engraved on the new cards, with a star at the top right indicating compliance with the federal REAL ID act.The front image on the card is a depiction of Mount Sneffels, a mountain in the San Juan Mountain Range that is 14,158 feet tall and located west of Ouray and north of Telluride. The background on the back side of the card contains an image of the State Capital building.Valid driver licenses, instruction permits and identification cards with the current design can be used until their expiration date. The current design will continue to be issued at all other offices.
