Biometric boarding specialist CLEAR has announced that the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office has issued it a Notice of Allowance related to a patent application covering biometric boarding pass technologies. The patent application covers a biometric solution that enables end-to-end access throughout an airport without producing ID or boarding pass information."We are very excited about this patent and the technology we are bringing to the marketplace. CLEAR piloted this solution in 2015 at San Jose International Airport (SJC) and received extremely positive customer feedback," said Caryn Seidman Becker, CLEAR's CEO. "We have created a travel experience where you never have to break stride or take anything from your pockets to go from curb-to-gate."Delta Air Lines recently announced a pilot program leveraging CLEAR's now patented technology at Reagan National Airport (DCA). This initiative represents the first commercially available application of the complete curb-to-gate biometric experience for select travelers, including the use of the CLEAR technology platform to check bags, enter the airport lounge, and even board the plane – all with just the tap of a finger.
