Versasec has hired Carolina Martinez as its director of US Operations. At Versasec, Ms Martinez will be responsible for one of the business' most important markets and establishing new customer relationships, overseeing customer interactions and ensuring customer satisfaction across the Americas. She previously worked at Gemalto, where she most recently served as the company's global director of Customer Service and Card Management within Gemalto's enterprise and cybersecurity operations."Every business must protect its data with more than just password logins, and the best means for doing so is with well-managed smart cards and virtual smart cards," said Carolina Martinez. "I've known the Versasec team since long before the company's inception, and I've been impressed with their technology, their growth, the way they tackle the market and their expanding customer base."Ms Martinez, who brings to Versasec more than 25 years' experience in working with smart cards, digital security, identity access management tools, team building, customer service, and sales, will be based in Austin, Texas. At Gemalto USA, she also previously served as director of business planning and customer management Americas, director of business planning and customer service NORAM, and sales planning and analysis director. She also held a variety of sales and operations positions at Gemplus before it became Gemalto USA, including stints in Venezuela, Spain and Mexico."Because of her extensive customer-facing work at Gemalto, her keen understanding of customer needs, and an adaptive nature that stems from having lived in several countries, Carolina brings a unique perspective on working with customers in the digital security space," said Joakim ThorÉn, Versasec CEO.
