Zayed International Airport reaches a new era in air travel, having processed over one million passengers with IDEMIA’s pioneering biometric solutions since the opening of Abu Dhabi’s new terminal on November 15, 2023.

IDEMIA, a leading technology provider since 2011, has implemented the world’s first multi-biometric entry and exit system as part of a robust border management solution. The result has been a significant increase in both security and passenger satisfaction.

The airport’s Single Token Journey solution utilises advanced facial recognition, slashing the time for passengers to move to the gate to just 12 minutes. This innovative system bypasses the need for multiple document checks, evidence of Zayed International Airport’s commitment to harnessing technology for superior service and convenience.

Elena Sorlini, MD and CEO of Zayed International Airport, asserted the airport’s pioneering endeavours to integrate biometrics at all travel stages, intent on establishing a world-first in passenger facilitation.

Osama Al Makhamreh, Vice President of Sales at IDEMIA for the Middle East & Africa, celebrated this milestone as a commendation of the efficacy, scalability, and security of the STJ solution.

Zayed International Airport’s adoption of this tech is set to revolutionise air travel in the Middle East and beyond.
