Vision-Box has partnered with IT supplier ATEA to install a nationwide integrated biometric enrolment solution for Regitra, the Lithuanian State Enterprise responsible for issuing the country's driving licences. The technology is being used to support the updating of Lithuania's national driving licence issuing process. Citizens have been using the solution at 18 Regitra offices since the beginning of 2016. Under the terms of the deal Regitra, replaced existing photo booths with Vision-Box vb e-pass kiosks and desktops designed to expedite the processing and issuance of nearly 200,000 licences a year.Vision-Box reports that, in conjunction with ATEA, it deployed ID management infrastructure designed to facilitate the enrolment of biometric data, improve the quality of data capture and management, and enhance personal data security. It says: "With a much smaller footprint, these integrated enrolment stations, used in both self-service and assisted mode, have brought a new look, feel and visibility to Regitra offices, without impacting available space and offering better conditions, optimisation and efficiency for citizens and operators."Its vb e-pass kiosks and desktops are deployed jointly with vb e-pass backdrop units. Vision-Box says these intelligently illuminated screens are used to achieve a uniformly lit background, boosting the quality of facial image capture and further guaranteeing full compliance with ICAO guidelines for a perfect, colourless, face image capture background. It adds that the new solutions have significantly decreased applicant processing times, vastly reduced queues, and increased document and associated processes security."Due to Vision-Box's solution we are seeing a great improvement in driving licence issuing times and customer satisfaction," says Saulius Šuminas, deputy director, Regitra. "The Vision-Box biometric enrolment solution is very intuitive for our customers and a very powerful tool for our employees."Behind the touchpoints is the vb e-pass enrolment software suite, a platform managed by Regitra, which integrates the entire national enrolment infrastructure. The platform is responsible for gathering all applicants' biometric and biographical data captured at the enrolment stations, as well as automatically assessing and validating the quality of each capture, in compliance with all international requirements such as ICAO. The correct enrolment and consolidation of the data is essential for further document personalisation and life cycle management."It was a very interesting challenge to find a better way for all drivers to get their driving licences," says Rimas Kvaselis, project group manager, ATEA. "The new system brought additional knowledge for Regitra employees. Well-delivered training managed to prepare employees in a short period of time. After having fully adopted the system, the driving licence issuing process is much more streamlined and customer satisfaction is noticeable."Jean-François Lennon, vice-president for Global Business Development & Sales, Vision-Box, adds: "Regitra is heavily committed to modernising the services it offers citizens. Having a driving licence is life changing for most people and Vision-Box is happy to be able to provide the best experience to applicants from the start at Regitra offices."
