Telecoms carrier TalkTalk has revealed plans to use voice biometrics to authenticate customers instead of knowledge-based solutions.Working with Nuance, the carrier will use voice prints rather than passwords, with customers recording a spoken phrase.Last year, TalkTalk was hacked in one of the biggest cyber attacks in Britain's history. In a statement, the company noted that the Nuance system will “analyse over 100 characteristics of their voice, checking the shape of larynx, vocal tract and nasal passage, alongside pronunciation, emphasis and speed of their speech”
