SDW 2016 Exhibitor Interview: PrehKeyTec

In the lead-up to SDW 2016, Security Document World has taken some time out to discuss industry trends with some of the companies that are exhibiting. In this interview, SDW spoke with ID solutions firm PrehKeyTec.What do you feel are the most important identity trends this year?With PrehKeyTec operating across global markets we have seen increasing demand for biometric identity solutions, especially with Finger Print recognition, with biometric technology offering protection against fraud and co-worker log in issues. The need for secure systems to admit or deny entry is also an area where we see continued growth, with Airport and other transportation hubs all investing in document readers and identity/access solutions, the key issues customers wish to address being "know your customer" and fast/secure passenger transit/access.What approach does your company take to security solution development that sets you apart from competitors?Our approach centres around PrehKeyTec's reinvestment programme in R & D, along with our associations with leading technology companies, ideally positioning us to provide leading edge solutions, which importantly have tried and tested systems behind them. Having in-house capability & expertise in software, hardware and mechanical engineering, also allows us to set ourselves apart and develop new solutions against market requirements.What are some of the challenges your company faces in producing secure credential innovation?The pace of change is always a challenge manufacturer's face especially in keeping systems secure; the ever increasing cyber threat and the sophistication of these threats, provides us all with daily challenges, which adversely drives innovation and product development.What areas of development will your company be focusing on in the next five years?Without doubt key areas for us will be biometrics along with further developments and technical advances in our document/ID readers. While we will remain as a key data input provider and lead the field with our keyboard technology, our focus will also be on additional HMI (Human Machine Interfaces) technologies. Security along with authentication, are the two key technology challenges and market requirements.
