Samsung hopes to shrug off battery issues with the Galaxy Note 7 as a new update makes it the first smartphone capable of iris-enabled mobile payments.Samsung Pay version 2.3, released on Wednesday, will support iris scanning support.This means user can authenticate in the app with an iris scanner, so for now it's only useful for owners of the Galaxy Note7.However, the Galaxy S8 from 2017 is also touted as having an iris scanner too.On its launch in August, two South Korean banks also revealed that they were already studying the smartphone's iris scanner for use in banking apps.
