Louisville, Kentucky-based Republic Bank has added biometric login options to its mobile app, saying this will improve convenience and security.The bank's app gives users the option of using Eyeprint ID from EyeVerify or Touch ID for its mobile banking application.Eyeprint ID technology takes an image and pattern-matches the blood vessels in the whites of the eye, while Touch ID uses built-in fingerprint-sensor technology, eliminating the need to remember and type a password.”Eyeprint ID and Touch ID are the latest offerings from Republic Bank that continue to show our commitment to make banking easier for our customers,” said Steve Trager, Chairman and CEO of Republic Bank.”Innovative solutions that allow us to better serve our customers while keeping their accounts secure is always a priority. Biometric technology is Republic Bank's latest demonstration of elevating our position in digital banking and security one step further.”In December, the bank offered customers the ability to use Apple Pay to conduct payment transactions with their Republic Bank consumer credit and debit cards.
