French security tech firm Morpho has been chosen by the Estonian Police and Border Guard Board to develop the country's new ID card, according to local media.In a public procurement tender of the Estonian Police and Border Guard Board three renowned European ID producers submitted their offers, reported geenius.The tender committee chose the offer of Safran Morpho as the winner, the Police and Border Guard Board said."Estonian documents must be secure and top quality," said PPA identity and status bureau chief Margit Ratnik. "We took into account in selecting the winner of the tender procurement costs, the proposed selection of security features and effects, and the production of documents, personalization and certification plan for the process of preparation for the schedule."Tender documents describe a five-year contract, with the document to be produced for the police board by 2018 at the latest, adds the newspaper.
