Fingerprint solutions firms Precise Biometrics and SecuGen will be demonstrating a fingerprint reader with anti-spoofing capabilities at connect:ID 2017 this week.In a statement, the firms said the demonstration will show SecuGen's high quality fingerprint reader, the Hamster Pro 20, with Precise Biometrics' spoof detection solution for a full digit optical sensor.Spoof detection, a solution to identify fake fingerprints, has emerged as a “must have” functionality for biometric authentication platforms, whether for physical and logical access control, or mobile e-commerce. The demonstration will be available for viewing throughout the conference, at the CITeR booth (#417).SecuGen and Precise Biometrics' US operations (formerly NexID Biometrics), have shipped the fingerprint reader with the anti-spoof solution since May 2016.NexID Biometrics was a technology spin-off of CITeR in 2007 and was recently acquired by Precise Biometrics. CITeR is the National Science Foundation industry/university research center and is currently headquartered at Clarkson University in Potsdam, NY. SecuGen has manufactured a wide range of high quality optical fingerprint technology for the global biometrics market since 1998 and is headquartered in Santa Clara, CA
