The OSIA specification is officially recognised as an international standard by the International Telecommunication Union’s Telecommunication Standardisation sector. Secure Identity Alliance’s open standard enables seamless connectivity between all the foundational blocks of the identity management ecosystem.
This milestone will establish the interoperability of global identity management infrastructure for the telecoms sector.
The specification has been accepted as an ITU-T Recommendation: ITU-T X.1281. 193 members of the ITU and the world’s top ICT companies voted for the specification.
Debora Comparin, Chair of the OSIA Initiative said: “We are very proud that the OSIA specification is recognized as an international standard by ITU-T. This milestone demonstrates the maturity of OSIA and its potential to foster interoperability and promote fairness in the identity management systems market.”
Engr Abisoye Coker-Odusote, Chair of the OSIA Advisory Committee, took great pride in “five years of collaboration” to develop the OSIA specification.
