Brand protection and anti-counterfeiting tech firm OpSec Security has taken ownership of API Holographics' security division, located in Salford, UK.In a statement, Opsec said the acquisition will allow OpSec to expand its security foil technology portfolio and boost production capacity.It added that the the capacity increase strengthens OpSec's competitive advantage in the marketplace by vertically integrating production of base materials and advanced security features technologies."As we progressed through the acquisition process, we received tremendous support from API's customers and suppliers," said Richard Cremona, CEO of OpSec Security. "That feedback is a testament to the quality reputation that both OpSec and API share in the marketplace.""OpSec is well situated to bring API's state-of-the-art manufacturing capabilities in-house," continued Cremona. "Our commitment is to complete the transition seamlessly without disruption to our customers."In a separate statement, the API Group confirmed it will now focus on the packaging arena whereas the holographic security product line addressed a different market segment.
