Morpho has revealed that it is participating in a Research Council of Norway's SWAN (Secure Access Control over Wide Area Network) Research & Development Project, which will use biometrics for strong authentication of personal data during online operations on smartphones. The SWAN project aims to research, develop and deploy innovative technologies to establish an access control platform that is sustainable and cost-effective.The stakeholders say this will be achieved by using strong authentication and biometrics to secure financial transactions, and by improving data transmission processes. Each transaction will be completely encrypted, from the beginning to end. This research project concerns the core Morpho business, from the acquisition of the iris, fingerprints and face capture on smartphone to the protection of biometric templates and transactions. Morpho will also participate in the integration, and all efforts, particularly European, that relate to standardization.
