The recent developments of Login.gov include enhancing anti-fraud capabilities, lowering pricing for agency partners, and starting a new design partnership focused on improving the user experience. But in 2025, they also enhanced efficiency through smarter identity verification with the U.S. Department of State. As an area of focus, developers worked on accepting U.S. passport documents to prove identity. This, along with using authoritative data sources, reduced friction for users and lower costs for agencies while upholding strict privacy protections.
As fraud threats, the system must continue to circumvent fraud and accurately detect suspicious activity, protecting sensitive government programmes.
