Taiwanese optical lens maker Ability Opto-Electronics Technology (AOET) expects lenses for fingerprint recognition to be a growth drivers in 2019, according to company president Victor Kao, reports regional media..AOET is working with China-based fingerprint sensor developer Goodix to beef up its competitiveness in the notebook and smartphone camera segments, according to industry sources, reports DigiTimes.Currently, AOET has two factories in Taiwan with total monthly production capacity of 70 million plastic lens pieces and four million lenses; two plants in Zhenjiang, eastern China, with nonthly capacity totaling eight million lenses; one in Vietnam with a monthly capacity of 2.5 million glass lens pieces and 5.5 million lenses.AOET posted consolidated revenues of NT$232 million (US$7.6 million) for September, increasing 0.77% sequentially and 27.30% on year, and those of NT$1.526 billion for January-September grew 20.92% on year.
