A firm that has developed what it describes as the world's smallest USB fingerprint scanner has launched a crowdfunding campaign.iTouch ID said its scanner is made of laser-cut sapphire glass and aircraft grade aluminum with a hard, anodized finish, this fingerprint sensor offers 500 pixel-per-inch resolution. The creator states in the campaign description: “Pretty much everyone has at least one online account, from basic email to social networks, forums, cloud storage and bank accounts. Experts recommend that in order to secure them, you create a unique password that is at least a 12-character combination with letters, numbers and symbols. This can be challenging to remember; fortunately, there is a better way.” Using a unique fingerprint provides better security than the best password.iTouch ID does not store fingerprints, so hackers cannot access secure files. The device protects laptops, computers, tablets and other devices from unauthorized use. It operates without cables and is small enough to be taken anywhere, making it the best option in portable fingerprint scanning devices. After initial installation, it can be used over and over.
