The Identity & Biometric Applications Unit at the Israel National Cyber Directorate has launched an RFI for a National Biometric Laboratory.In a statement to Planet Biometrics, officials confirmed that the Unit decided to establish a National Biometric Laboratory that would support it's missions, by conducting tests to evaluate biometric systems, devices and algorithms.The Unit holds responsibility for performing oversight of Israel's National E-id and E-passport project, devising the government's national policy and guidelines regarding Biometric Applications, and guiding and advising the major biometric government and public projects in Israel (the Unit holds more responsibilities in the field of identity management).More details on the RFI are available here.
