Chinese smartphone manufacturer Huawei has announced their Android tablet, MediaPad M2 features Fingerprint Cards' touch fingerprint sensor, the FPC1155.FPC confirmed in a statement that already received as well as expected revenues in 2016 that relate to sales of FPC1155 for this tablet model are included in FPC's communicated revenue guidance of 6,500-8,500 MSEK (US$758 million to US$991 million).Jörgen Lantto, CEO of FPC, comments: “Huawei is a leading global OEM and we are proud that Huawei selected FPC1155 for MediaPad M2, its first tablet integrating a touch fingerprint sensor, following the successful launch of 10 smartphones with FPC touch fingerprint sensors. FPC1155 supports 360 degree finger rotation capability, fast response time and industry leading 3D image quality”.On Tuesday, FPC also noted that in 2015 it came together with other industry leaders and developed solutions to enable the use of FPC's touch fingerprint sensor technology for automotive applications.The biometrics firm related that the solutions have been evaluated by leading global car makers and other companies in the automotive industry, and that as a result FPC's touch fingerprint sensor module FPC1025 has been selected for further development and integration into commercial applications for the automotive industry.
